As part of a three-year plan to protect the quality of Newfound Lake and its watershed, NLRA has launched a project to restore the former Grey Rocks commercial area to more natural conditions. This involves a comprehensive redesign of the property using permaculture principles, essentially creating a master plan to govern future uses, including built structures, modifications to the natural environment and activities in a way that maintains and potentially improves water quality and the sustainability of the environment.
NLRA is working with Resilience Planning and Design, LLC of Plymouth, who, with assistance from Plymouth State University students, is analyzing the two-acre portion of Grey Rocks slated for restoration and soliciting feedback from stakeholders for the project design. This project has the potential to be a national model for sustainable development. We invite you to be a part of this planning process and/or to participate in the projects resulting from the plan.
