The NLRA would like to wish you a Happy Holiday Season and Best Wishes for 2019. We are very grateful for your donations, volunteer hours, commitment and feedback. We could not protect and care for Newfound without you. THANK YOU!

Protect Newfound Lake: Please Give to NLRA’s Annual Fund

We all love Newfound’s clean water and forested mountains. The memories of playing in the water with children and grandchildren are engraved in our hearts and minds. In the winter, building snowmen, sledding or taking a winter hike followed by hot chocolate is a favorite pastime. Soon we’ll see the bobhouses populate the ice and people enjoying their snowmobiles, skis and snowshoes. Newfound’s recreation is truly four-season!

While we are enjoying all the fun, it’s important to take a moment to think about what we can do to protect Newfound and assure future enjoyment is not at risk. That’s what the NLRA does year round, but we can’t do it without you. If you haven’t already done so, please make a generous year-end contribution to NLRA’s Annual Fund- it’s easy to do!

Hike the Beautiful Elwell Trail!

Hiking at Newfound is a great way to kick off the new year. Gather your friends and start the New Year off right with a rewarding winter walk. Try a moderate, 1.5-mile, round-trip hike on the Elwell Trail, crossing the summit of Little Sugarloaf with fabulous views of Newfound Lake, and passing pristine and quiet Goose Pond. The trailhead is located roughly 100 yards north and opposite the entrance to Wellington State Park, on West Shore Rd. in Bristol. This time of year, snowshoes or traction devices are recommended. Dress for the weather, and savor some of Newfound’s finest protected public land!
