The Newfound Lake Region Association’s Annual Meeting and Membership Gathering will be held June 26th from 5-6pm. This annual event is a time to celebrate the beauty of Newfound Lake and the diligent efforts that keep it clean, reflect on the events of the year, and lay out plans for the future protection of Newfound.
Agenda highlights include the election of 2020-21 board officers, a State of the Lake report, and an update on land conservation within the Newfound watershed. Attendees will also hear from new Executive Director, Rebecca Hanson, about her first nine months with NLRA. “I’m inspired every day by the passion and commitment this community shows for Newfound,” says Hanson, “And I look forward to connecting with our dynamic group of supporters to share all the great work that their commitment makes possible.”
Together, Board President Rob Moore and Rebecca Hanson will present the Founder’s Award, which is presented every year to an individual or group that has provided significant active service as a member or volunteer, given a significant financial or in-kind contribution to the conservation of Newfound, or, an individual or group that, through leadership and scientific discovery, has contributed to a better understanding of the importance of the Lake and its watershed.
For the safety of all, the Annual Meeting and Membership Gathering will be held remotely. This event is open to the public, but only current NLRA members are eligible to vote for the 2020-2021 board officers. You can read the full agenda and review the slate of officers here.
