Dear Newfounders,
Summer is NLRA’s busiest time of year, and that holds true as we continue to push the Grey Rocks Conservation Center forward. Here are some exciting milestones we’ve hit since my last update:
We’re going to the Hebron Planning Board. On July 3rd NLRA will present the Grey ROcks Conservation Center to the planning board as part of the site plan review process, which is required for non-residential projects. The board will review our application to ensure every aspect meets the standards set forth in the Hebron Zoning Ordinance.
NLRA will receive $200,000 from the NH Community Development Finance Authority Tax Credit program. We are one of twenty NH nonprofits awarded funding by the NH CDFA. This is a highly competitive program, with rigid criteria that can only be met by projects that demonstrate a significant positive impact on the local community and economy.
Support from the John Gemmill Newfound Fund highlights land conservation. The John Gemmill Newfound Fund is reserved for projects that advance land conservation in the Newfound Watershed. The Fund committee has approved a grant of $40,000, recognizing that the Grey Rocks Conservation Center will boost land conservation efforts.
We’re only $250,000 away from our $2.2 million goal! We are working hard to secure the final funds we need this summer so we are ready to break ground after Labor Day. You can help us reach the finish line by pledging your support and connecting us to friends and neighbors who may like to know about this project. If you would like to coordinate with us to spread the word about the conservation center, please get in touch.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime project, and I’m so appreciative that you believed in it from the very beginning. Thank you.
Warmly,
Rebecca Hanson
