UPCOMING EVENTS

Newfound Science Pub: Hop to it! Protecting NH’s Frogs, Salamanders, and Vernal Pools

April 16, 5-7pm
Newfound Lake Inn
1030 Mayhew Turnpike, Bridgewater, NH

Amphibians and reptiles are among the fastest disappearing species in the world and here in New Hampshire we are still gathering information on who is living where. Join us for a conversation with Rachelle Lyons, Plymouth State University Professor of Environmental Science & Policy, to explore issues facing NH’s amphibians and why vernal pools are an important part of the story. Get better acquainted with species of concern in the state, the habitats they need to thrive, and what you can do to record and protect local frogs, salamanders, and the places they call home.

Newfound Science Pub connects the community to experts in science and conservation. Discuss current issues, ask your burning questions, and share your own perspective in a casual, social atmosphere.

Doors open at 5pm, program runs 6-7pm. Registration is required.

Join NLRA educators as we explore some of our earliest spring plants! Some flowers take advantage of leaf-free trees to grab as much sunshine as possible early in the season- while these blooms don’t last long, they provide some wonderful early color. Stop by the Hebron Town Forest to learn about spring ephemerals, walk the trails looking for flowers, and make some spring art!
