Preserving Kimball Hill & Newfound Lake Watershed

Preserving Kimball Hill & Newfound Lake Watershed

The NLRA is extremely excited about The Nature Conservancy’s (TNC’s) recent commitment to purchase 2,700 acres of wilderness – 1,800 of which are located in the northwest corner of the Newfound Lake watershed – for permanent conservation.  This parcel includes roughly six miles along the Cockermouth River, which is Newfound’s second largest tributary.  The high ridges conserved by this purchase will be forever protected against development of any sort, including industrial wind towers and electrical transmission lines.

In partnership with TNC and NH Wind Watch, the NLRA is inviting all our friends and members to consider donating generously to the TNC to complete this purchase and be ready for the next Newfound land conservation opportunity.

To celebrate our current progress, and learn more about how you can help make a positive difference, The Inn on Newfound Lake is extending their famous hospitality for a gathering of like-minded people on Saturday December 2d from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.to share inspiration, ideas, and resources.  Please register in advance for this free event.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday December 2 at the Inn!

Very best,

Newfound Lake Region Association
