Stewardship Journal – Colleen Clausen

It’s the start of the season I will be serving with the Newfound Lake Region Association as a Watershed Steward. So far New Hampshire’s Lakes Region has welcomed us with 90 degree summer temperatures followed by spring temperatures in the 50s. While a bit surprising, this weather isn’t too foreign to me as I’m a New Hampshire local and prior to starting work I was watching snow fall from grey skies on May 9th. Weather aside, my service has begun in earnest alongside my cohort, Ryan. This year will be unique for both myself and the Newfound Lakes Region Association with the current continuing health pandemic but we will make the best of it and learn as we go. Training has been underway and both virtual and physical service has been started. Ryan and I have begun site maintenance at the NLRA’s Grey Rocks site so if you are in the area feel free to say hello! – Colleen Clausen
