Newfound Knows Pies!
Fall is here, Thanksgiving is coming and Newfound knows pies! We are fortunate to have multiple places to purchase locally-sourced, fresh-baked pies, breads, and other goodies.
Family owned and operated Basic Ingredients, located on 1777 Lake Street (Route 3A) in Bristol, has been serving the Newfound region for 30 years. Check out their pie selection: apple, apple crumb, blueberry, strawberry rhubarb, mixed berry, raspberry, chocolate cream, pecan, pumpkin, and squash. Their annual Holiday Pie Sale is happening now through November 20. Call 603-744-6035 to order your Thanksgiving Day pies for pickup by Wednesday afternoon, November 22. Other baked favorites that are available — fresh from the Basic Ingredients oven — are Anadama bread, cinnamon swirl bread, sticky buns, and buttermilk biscuits! Call for selection of rolls for your Thanksgiving meal, and check out their Facebook page.
Steve and Nancy Bleiler and their family have been operating the Cardigan Mountain Country Store since 2013. Everything is made in small batches from their private recipe book. This year, they are offering pies, cider donuts, muffins, pumpkin bread, cider donut bread pudding and turnovers. Order forms are available at the store and online, or call 603-744-2248. They will do their best to accommodate special requests. Located on 231 Lake Street in Bristol, the store is open Wednesday to Sunday 8am to 5pm; closed Monday and Tuesday. Remember to “like” them on Facebook at Cardigan Country Store!
